I’ve always been fascinated by astrology. I think it’s one of my hyper focus topics, I love the fact that I can keep on learning new things. I feel that we are pulled by invisible forces, and people have looked up to the stars for hundreds of years. The 12th house in an astrology chart has always mystified me, it’s the hidden house. It’s the house before the rising sign, which is the hour of the night just before the sun begins to rise. It governs the collective subconscious. It also governs the chart owner’s mother’s history before birth. Depending on what planets (or not) land in that house, you can tell a lot about someone’s blind spot.
Yesterday, I actually drew something, I join up with a group of witchy artists online, and collectively we create magic. I am not ready to get back to my oil paints, I find it uncomfortable to sit in my office chair for too long, but I can draw. So I’m taking out my pens and pencils and for now, allow my imagination to guide me. Bonus, if I like something enough I’ll turn it into a painting later on. Still identifying with those Cicadas creeping out of the darkness into the light, so they can scream their song.
Astrology Notes:
Moon shifts from comforting and sensitive Cancer and moves into the sign of Leo, it opposes Pluto in Aquarius, so we enter that phase where we are aware that we need to be honest and authentic with ourselves. The Sun and Uranus conjunct in Taurus too, opening the door for us to be confident enough to jump into the void, to make that tough choice that will alter out lives for the better. We are encouraged to rethink the way we see ourselves and others. This is also a good time to change the way we look at our finances, and maybe shake things up a bit, good things come when we are courageous enough to think creatively. This energy has a lot to do with awakening, it reminds me of the Judgement Tarot card, where the angel Gabriel awakens the dead to a new life, a new awareness.
Art: The Fetch, the Siren. In Eastern European mythology and also in Greek Mythology there is a creature called the Siren which is a creature that has a woman’s head and breasts, but a birds body. The Siren speaks the word of the Gods to humans. Drawing is very meditative, and I find that this image comes from the land of dreams for me. I may add some colour to this still and then sell it as a print or a sticker. This Siren holds a Moon in her hand, she is both the sacred feminine and an owl, she has very Lilith-like energy, holding mystery and magic that is available to those who have the courage to hear her message.
