Today, I’m driving my husband to the hospital to speak to a specialist. So I don’t have much time here to write about what’s going on. It’s pretty busy, my to-do list today is intense. I’m wondering how it got so busy?

I have a package of art to send out today, invoices to create, an astrology chart to illustrate, and a house to clean.

Outside, it’s grey, and the snow continues to fall and fall and fall. I am trying to make the best of it. Every winter it seems that I fight against January and it’s dull aching blah.

And yet, Andrew just kissed me and said “Hey, beautiful”. So there is light and joy even in the darkest days.

Magic Spell:

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s dark and cold and grey. And since the Moon is in Aries (a fire sign) this is a good time to (safely) practice candle magic. With Venus moving into Pisces, love spells and creativity spells could be pretty powerful. Pick a pink, blue or white candle (white is a universal shade). If you want to attract love, think of all those things you would love in a partner. If you want to intensify your creative life, write down all the things you’d like to accomplish this year with your art. Use a red pen, and then fold the paper 3 ways. Put it under the candle. Light the candle and spend some quiet time watching the flame. Visulise yourself attracting the things you wish for. When you’re done, blow out the candle and thank the invisibles. You can repeat this exercise every day until the full moon, and or when the candle burns out.

Mars moves retrograde into Cancer: (Lasts till Feb 23rd)

Like a little Crab, Mars the God of War finds a new shell to wear for protection and defense. At this point, it’s good to review your boundaries and to understand your limits. It’s a good idea to check in with your emotions especially anger and resentment. Things can really broil under the surface. You may have to scream into the void just to get it out of your system. Family dramas thrive on this kind of energy, so if you find yourself getting embroiled int he drama you may need to retreat and recharge.

Mercury in Sagittarius squares with Neptune in Pisces:

Sometimes the blunt truth can be brutal. Sometimes when we’re being lied to we can see the tangled web. Expect some reveals to occur, where someone is trying to hide in denial and deceit and anther person exposes them for who they are. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!” Shouts Neptune in Pisces, like the Wizard of Oz, but like Dorthy we kind of need to see things for what they are. This myopic drift has gone on too long, and we need to clear our vision. The trick is, we need to do so without letting go of our hopes and dreams.

Moon in Aries Squares with Mars, and with the Sun in Capricorn, the Moon conjuncts with Chiron:

Emotionally, we are ready to forge ahead, thanks to the boost of warrior energy granted by the Moon in Aries. However, there are gatekeepers out there. The Sun in Capricorn, needs a list, needs a game plan, some kind of strategy. So projects slow down as we check all the boxes. Mars in emotional Cancer reminds us that we can easily burn out if we over-promise. Because this is a t-square formation, it will make us emotionally uncomfortable enough to make sure that changes occur, that we do get the most important things done without compromising our limitations. Try to make sure you get some rest, rest is a form of rebellion. Chiron in Aries is all about helping us find confidence and courage, despite the handicaps that slow us down. If you need to heal, make sure you make time to focus on developing inner strength.
